Frequently asked questions
If your question is not here, get in touch — a question that recurs gets added to this page.
Services & eligibility
- People with disabilities and their families within the association’s geographic remit. Some programmes — early intervention, for instance — are age-bounded, as each programme page states. We do not require a particular nationality, and prioritise by published need-severity criteria rather than by application order alone.
- Core services are free for registered beneficiaries, funded by donations, government support and partnerships. A few high-cost specialist services may carry a nominal contribution assessed against the family’s means, with full waivers for the most in need.
- Initial screening takes place within two weeks of receiving a request. The wait thereafter varies by programme and capacity, and the family is told the expected duration explicitly rather than left waiting indefinitely.
Donating
- Giving through the approved national platforms issues you an official receipt immediately. At the association level, audited financial statements and the impact report are published annually in the disclosure section, and any donor may ask how their contribution was applied.
- Yes. A donation may be earmarked for a programme or a category of case. We accept earmarking unless the condition conflicts with the association’s purposes or compromises its independence, under the gift acceptance policy.
Volunteering
- Not for general opportunities such as events and administrative support. Direct volunteering with beneficiaries requires an induction and screening under the safeguarding policy — a condition that is never waived, however good the intent.
- Yes — hours are logged, a certified volunteering certificate is issued, and hours are recorded on the national volunteering platform where applicable.
Governance & oversight
- The association is supervised by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, adheres to the governance regulation issued by the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development, and submits its audited financials and annual reports to the regulator while also publishing them publicly.
- Through the complaints page on this site, or the dedicated compliance mailbox. Reports concerning a regulatory breach or harm to a beneficiary reach the audit committee directly, bypassing the executive, and may be filed anonymously.
